April Ipsy

I really enjoyed this month’s Ipsy bag. The bag itself is really colorful and great for the spring/summer. The products that I received in this bag were are all exciting products for me.

1.) This first product that I received is the Tarte Cosmetics LipSurgence Lip Creme in Wonder, which they describe as a soft poppy pink shade. I would say that I think the shade is closer to a berry color, but nonetheless the shade is beautiful and it seems really moisturizing. I’ve been wanting to try this product out for a while, so I’m really glad I got it in my Ipsy so I could test it out.

2.) The second product I got is the Adesse New York Organic Infused Gel Effect Nail Lacquer in Irina. The shade is described as a steely gray/lavender hue and is really pretty. This is a shade that I can see myself wearing. I’m excited to give it a try and see how the formula is.

3.) The next product I received is the Luxie Beauty Dreamcatcher  Tapered Highlighter Brush. I love getting and trying out new brushes. This Brush is super soft and the periwinkle color makes it look so cute. I’m really excited to have got this in my bag.

4.) I then got the Starlooks Cream Eye shadow in Rose Gold. I don’t really like the application of this product. I perfer eye shadows in pans, but that being said, the color is really pretty. I haven’t tried it out yet, so I’m not sure about the staying power or creasing, but I’ll definitely try it out soon to find out.

5.) The last product that I got in my bag this month is the Moroccanoil Treatment. It’s supposed to condition your hair and make it look shiny and healthy. I’ve seen this brand all around, but I’ve never actually tried it, so I’m excited to give this product a go.

So, that’s all the products that I received in this month’s Ipsy. I hope you enjoyed my post, and as always feel free to comment!

February Ipsy

This month’s February Ipsy bag was so adorable. The front had a cute techno-valentine inspired design, that was of a textured material, and the back was solid pink. I wasn’t disappointed with any of the items that I received in my bag this month. There was a good array of products and they are all something that I would like to try out. So without further ado, here are the products that I received in my February Ipsy Bag.

1.) First off is a product that I chose to receive with some of my ipsy points. It’s the Marula Foaming Cleansing Oil. I love cleansing oils, so I thought that it would be nice to try this product out.

2.) Next, I got the Bellapierre Cosmetics mineral blush in the shade desert rose. It’s an all natural and vegan blush, that creates a really pretty naturally flushed look. I’ve tried this out already, and so far I’m enjoying it.

3.) Next up is the Trust Fund Beauty Nail Polish in the shade “I’m Kind of a Big Deal”. This shade is a beautiful cool toned pink and would be great for the spring and summer months. I just recently tried this out, and I really liked the way that it applied. It had great coverage and pigmentation, and was super easy to use.

4.) I also got the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Oil. I’ve never used an oil primer before, so I was really intrigued when I saw this. It’s also supposed to add moisture which will be great for my dry skin. I can’t wait to try this one out.

5.) I then got the Naked Cosmetics Mica Pigment in the shade Sierra Nevada 05, which is a shimmery espresso brown. This shade is gorgeous and it looks like its going to be really pigmented, so I’m excited to use it.

6.) Lastly, I got the Perfectly Posh BFF: Best Face Forever Exfoliating Daily Face Wash. I love exfoliants, so one that’s gentle enough to use daily is pretty nice. And this product has a nice minty scent, which is a plus.

That’s all the products that I received in my Ipsy bag this month. I hope you enjoyed my post and as always feel free to comment!

Valentia Review

Disclaimer: These products were sent to me for my honest opinion.

Today I’m going to be talking about the True Glow Eye Cream and the Ultra Plumping Hydration Mask from Valentia. Valentia is Vegan, Cruelty-free, made of 98% natural ingredients, and made in the USA. With a blend of Astaxanthin, Resistem, Vitamin C, Organic Rosehip Oil, and Arnica, The True Glow Eye Cream’s mission is to moisturize, repair, and tighten the under eye area, giving a youthful and glowing look. With Silk Protein Amino Acid Blend, Botanical Hyaluronic Acid, Organic Sea Buckthorn Oil, Japanese Green Tea, and Aloe Vera, the Ultra Plumping Hydration Mask aims to provide the skin with plentiful hydration and nourishment. First off, I really like the packaging that the products come in. The white and gold packaging makes the product look very chic and sophisticated. The eye cream comes in a nice glass bottle with a pump; the mask on the other hand doesn’t have quite as impressive packaging, as it comes in a plastic jar. Overall, as far as the product itself goes, I really enjoyed the eye cream, but the mask just wasn’t all that special.

The True Glow Eye Cream is very nice and creamy to apply. After applying it at night, in the morning I can feel that my under eye area is nice and hydrated. It’s a nice product to use and I can see that there’s a difference when I’m using it. There is a scent to the eye cream, but it’s not too offensive.

The Ultra Plumping Hydration Mask on the other hand has a very strong scent that was offensive to me. When the scent of a product, no matter if it’s good or not, is offensively overbearing I find it very difficult to use. It did feel nice to apply and afterwards my skin did feel replenished, but ultimately I think you could find a product that does the same thing and smells a lot nicer.

So, if you were wanting to try something from Valentia, I would skip the mask and try the eye cream instead. I hope you enjoyed my post and as always feel free to comment!

Zoeva Rose Gold Luxury Brush Set Review

I’ve seen a lot of hype about the Zoeva makeup brushes, and the packaging is right up my alley so I immediately wanted to try them. My lovely parents got me the rose gold luxury set for Christmas and I’ve been trying them out ever since. Verdict is… I really enjoy them! The brushes look super nice on my makeup table and they are really good quality. Some I like more than others, but overall they’re pretty great. The set comes with 8 brushes in a sleek brown bag. The brushes that are included are:

  • 106 Powder- which is soft, big fluffy brush that’s perfect for applying powder all over the face.
  • 102 Silk Finish- this one might be my favorite. I use it to apply my liquid foundation and it makes my base glide on super smooth and it gives a nice natural, blended look.
  • 110 Face Shape- I don’t use this brush all that much, but it’s nice for a very precise and well blended contour.
  • 127 Luxe Sheer Cheek- This brush is perfect for applying blush.
  • 142 Concealer Buffer- This is supposed to be used to apply and blend concealer, which I don’t usually use a brush for, so I just use this for blending out any harsh eyeshadow lines, and it seems to work pretty good for that.
  • 227 Luxe Soft Definer- This brush is also good for blending out eyeshadow.
  • 231 Luxe Petit Crease- It’s a good brush for getting a really defined crease.
  • 317 Wing Liner- I tried this brush with some gel liner and I liked it. It was pretty easy to use and make a winged liner with.

I think that this a really great set of brushes and would be especially nice for traveling, because it has all the essentials brushes that you would need and a cute bag to carry them in. I will say that I’m not that impressed with the eye brushes though. I’ve definitely had better quality eye brushes. They’re descent, they’re just not amazing. If I could only try a couple brushes from Zoeva it would be their face brushes, because I’ve enjoyed all of the face brushes in the set; they all feel so luxurious. I hope you enjoyed my post and as always feel free to comment!

bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream Review

The bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream has been praised by many to be a great product. So me with the dry skin and makeup addiction, thought that I definitely had to try this product out. This product is defined as “A multitasking gel cream that combines hydrating skin care benefits with naturally radiant coverage.” It has SPF 30 and comes in 10 shades, so there’s sure to be a shade for everyone. It’s a cream consistency stating that it’s a combination of a BB cream, CC cream, and tinted moisturizer. It goes on really smooth and leaves my skin looking fresh and dewy. One thing that I love about this product is that it has a more sheer coverage, so my freckles can show through, while also creating a even complexion, giving a nice natural finish. This product is also buildable and can be made into a medium coverage if desired. If you have oily skin, I would definitely say that this product isn’t for you, I imagine it will be a shiny nightmare. Even with someone as myself who has dry skin, I find myself needing to use some powder to keep it from looking greasy instead of dewy. But from that aside, overall, I’ve really enjoyed this product and find that it gives my dry, dull skin a nice radiance. So, if your looking for a light coverage product to give you a luminous finish I would say to give this product a try.

January Ipsy

This month’s Ipsy bag was pretty nice. The bag itself is super colorful and youthful and I think it’s very cute. I got a good mix of products this month, so I’m excited to share with you what I received.

1.) The first thing that I got are the skyn Iceland travel size glacial cleansing cloths. I’ve gotten a product from this brand before and from the products I’ve tried I really like this brand. The cloths have a nice fresh scent to them and create a rich lather of cleansing foam when the cloth is just rubbed together, meaning that they need no water. This would be great for a lazy night when you don’t feel like going through your entire skincare regime, but know that you need to take your makeup off real quick.

2.) I then got the theBalm Cosmetics Mr. Write (Now) Eyeliner pencil in Jac B. Bronze, which is a nice rich bronze shade. I’m already a fan of theBalm Cosmetics, so I’m hoping that this product is good. Upon first swatch it seems to apply very easily, be smudge-resistant, and have very good pigmentation.

3.) The next thing that I got is the Promise Organic Ultra Moisturizing Argan Creme Facial Lotion. It has 100% naturally derived ingredients and is dermatologist tested for sensitive skin. I have tried this product and it seems pretty moisturizing so far and it has a great scent to it.

4.) I also got the Skone Cosmetics Smudger Brush. I love brushes, so I’m always excited when I receive a new one in my Ipsy bag. This brush is going to be great for blending out eyeliner and also eyeshadow on the bottom lash line. I can’t wait to use it.

5.) Last but not least, I received the City Color Cosmetics Eyeshadow Trio in Falling Leaves. These colors are absolutely gorgeous and are shades that I would wear all the time. They aren’t super pigmented, but the pigmentation is decent and it would be great for travel. The shades are described as matte burnt orange, metallic bronze and champagne highlight.

Those are all the products that I received in this month’s Ipsy. I hope you enjoyed my post and as always feel free to comment!

Dior Addict Lip Glow

I’ve had this product for a couple months now and I absolutely love it. It’s nothing ground breaking or incredible, but it’s just such great product to use everyday or when you just want a little something extra on your lips that will be natural but pretty. The product that I’m talking about is the Dior Addict Lip Glow in the color pink. This product says it’s “Formulated with color reviver technology, this silky lipstick reacts with the chemistry of your lips to create a special shade that will last all day.” This balm also has SPF 10 and it has mango butter and loofah extract in it for nourishment and hydration.  This product is no doubt super moisturizing and it also a great minty smell to it. The color that it gives off is a beautiful natural sheer wash of pink that is supposedly individualized depending on the chemistry of the lips. This is the perfect lip product to keep in your purse or when your in a rush and your lips are dry or you need a wash of color. And it has a pretty long staying power, but when its worn off it’s not a problem because it’s super easy to reapply. Well that’s all I have to say about this product, let me know if you’ve ever tried it before and what you think about it. I hope you enjoyed my post and as always feel free to comment!

December Ipsy

I was very pleased with this month’s Ipsy bag, and it might be my favorite so far. This bag has a good variation of product and I’m very excited to try them all.

1.) The first product that I received is the Skinn Cosmetics Sugar Lips Polishing Scrub for Dry and Lined Lips. I’m always up for a good lip scrub, in fact my last post was on a DIY lip scrub. This scrub is an enticing pink color and it has a sweet tasty smell to it. I’m very excited to give this product a try.

2.) The next product that I received is the Pacifica Power Of Love Natural Lipstick in the shade Nudie Red. The picture above makes the lipstick look a lot redder than it actually is. It’s actually a beautiful nude that enhances my natural lip color. It has a great minty scent and feels very moisturizing on my lips.

3.) Next up I got the Tarte Cosmetics Smooth Operator Amazonian Clay Finishing Powder. I love Tarte as a brand in general, so I have high expectations for this product. I haven’t tried it out yet, but it looks promising.

4.) I then got the Lather Honey Moisture Mask with Propolis Extract. I love masks in general and if it’s a moisturizing mask my dry skin loves it even more, so I was very excited to get this product.

5.) Finally, I got the Be A Bombshell Cosmetics Mechanical Eye Liner in the shade Wild Child which is black. I swatched it on my hand, and first impression is that it doesn’t seem to have great pigmentation, which is one of the main aspects I look for in my eyeliner. But, I’ll give this a go anyways and see how it turns out. All in all, I was very pleased with this month’s bag. I hope you enjoyed my post and as always feel free to comment!

DIY Lip Scrub

Lip scrubs are something that can be very useful, especially in the cold winter months when lips are more prone to getting dry and chapped. Lip scrubs exfoliate the dead skin off the lips and leave your lips more soft and smooth. Of course you can find lip scrubs in shops, but they are also really easy to make. So, I thought that today I would share with you my lip scrub recipe. All you need is:

  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 3 teaspoons brown sugar
  • A lime

All you do is take all of the ingredients listed above and mix them all together, it’s super simple. Lime can be substituted for lemon or honey, I just chose lime because I like the smell. The lime juice kind of binds all of the ingredients together, so I just add a little at a time while mixing all the ingredients together until it seems like the right consistency. I then just put it in an empty glass container and I’m done! That’s all you need to know to make this simple lip scrub. I hope you enjoyed my post and as always feel free to comment!
